K-Electric and DP World Collaborate to Build New 132 kV Grid Station at QICT

K-Electric and DP World have signed an agreement to establish a dedicated 132 kV grid station at Pakistan’s Qasim International Container Terminal (QICT), ensuring a reliable 26 MW power supply to support the terminal’s expanding operations and Pakistan’s growing participation in global trade.

According to the press release, the project is designed to enhance power resilience, improve operational efficiency, and enable future electrification at one of the country’s most important trade gateways. The partnership underscores both companies’ commitment to sustainability, innovation, and long-term reliability.

Sadia Dada, Chief Distribution & Marcomms Officer at K-Electric, said, “The move to grid power represents growing confidence in the system’s reliability and cost competitiveness, especially for industries with expanding operations.
